AIC's Big Upset Brings Big Honors

Week 9 - November 4, 2024


NE10 Offensive Player of the Week

Drew Forkner, Saint Anselm
Sophomore | QB | Plano, Tex.

Forkner completed 17 of his 32 passes for 276 yards and a career-high five touchdowns in a 42-28 win at Franklin Pierce.  In addition to five touchdowns, Forkner didn't turn over the ball.


NE10 Defensive Player of the Week

Shawn Belle, AIC
Senior | LB | Jersey City, N.J.


Belle was a force on defense, making critical plays for the Yellow Jackets including a pair of sacks; his first sack led to an Assumption field goal attempt that AIC blocked and returned for a touchdown, and his second came with eight seconds left on the clock, effectively ending the game. 


NE10 Special Teams Player of the Week

David Eppinger, AIC
Grad | S | Gilbert, Ariz.


Eppinger made one of the biggest plays of the season by blocking an Assumption field goal attempt and returning the loose ball over 70 yards to the end zone for a touchdown, giving AIC a 21-17 lead in a game they would go on to win. He also recorded five tackles and broke up three pass attempts for a strong all-around performance.


NE10 Rookie of the Week

Connor Dietz, American International
Freshman | Quarterback | Point Pleasant, N.J. 

 

Dietz continued to shine in his inaugural campaign, leading a final drive for AIC that culminated in him hitting Fatir Bell for a 31-yard touchdown pass on fourth-and-6 with 22 seconds to play to defeat Assumption 27-24. He also rushed for the game's first touchdown and completed a two-point conversion attempt. ?
